New School, Same Great Cheese: Your FAQ Guide to The Truffle's New Home

After more than 25 years in Denver's food community, The Truffle Cheese Shop is preparing to welcome customers to a new home at 1115 Acoma Street.

Our longtime 6th Avenue location will always hold a special place in our hearts. But our new space offers something we've wanted for years: more room for exceptional cheeses, interesting discoveries, hands-on experiences, and a community of neighboring businesses that share our enthusiasm for Denver.

A few people have asked about specifics for the new space; here are answers to some of the most common questions.

Where exactly is the new Truffle Cheese Shop?

You'll find us at 1115 Acoma Street, Suite 110, Denver, CO 80204, inside the restored Evans School Building in the Golden Triangle neighborhood.

We're just south of the Denver Art Museum, close to the History Colorado Center, Civic Center Park, and the Denver Public Library's Central Library.

It's easy to get to from downtown, Capitol Hill, Cherry Creek, Country Club, and many of Denver's central neighborhoods. Compared with the old location, we’ll have more space to work with, more nearby parking, and more options for customers to make an afternoon or evening of a trip to the store.

I wondered about that building and project; what can you tell me about it?

Originally built in 1904, the Evans School is one of Denver's architectural treasures. Designed in the Renaissance Revival style, the building features beautiful brickwork, arched windows, and the kind of character you simply can't recreate in a new building.

After decades of sitting largely unused since its closure in the 1970’s the school was reimagined as a home for independent businesses, restaurants, creative spaces, and events.

We love the idea of bringing a Denver institution into another Denver institution. It doesn’t hurt that a historic school seems like a pretty appropriate place to host a cheese-making class.

What's parking like at the new location?

We know this is an important question, especially as it was the most commonly discussed challenge of the 6th Ave location. Easy parking matters when you're stopping by to pick up a cheese board or stock up for a dinner party.

Fortunately, there are several parking options around the Evans School:

  • Dryden Garage — 1140 Bannock Street: The Evans School has approximately 100 paid parking spaces on the garage's second and third floors that we are welcome to use.

  • Nearby surface lots: Paid parking is available around 12th Avenue and Acoma Street, including lots directly north of the school and across the street from it. These fixed-price lots are your best bet if you'll be exploring the neighborhood for a while.

  • Street parking: For a quick stop, metered street parking is available on surrounding streets, subject to the usual Denver restrictions.

Garage and lot parking rates vary, and some street access may change during the upcoming Acoma Street improvements.

We'll continue sharing the best parking and pickup options as the neighborhood evolves.

Who are our neighbors at the Evans School?

One of the biggest reasons we're excited about the move is the community taking shape inside the building.

Our neighbors include:

  • Schoolyard Beer Garden: A lively indoor and outdoor gathering spot with Colorado craft beer, casual food, and more than 5,000 square feet of outdoor beer garden space.

  • Schoolyard Café: A welcoming neighborhood café serving coffee, pastries, sandwiches, salads, wine, and other treats.

  • The Racks: A curated vintage and thrift shop full of interesting finds.

  • Cuff & Crease: A bespoke clothing studio creating custom suits, jackets, and other tailored pieces.

  • Hair Masonry: A creative salon collective.

  • The Top Floor: A members-only workspace bringing another community of Denver professionals into the building.

Stop by for cheese, meet a friend for coffee, discover something unexpected, or finish the afternoon with a beer in the garden. We think you'll find plenty of reasons to stay awhile.

What else is there to do nearby?

Quite a lot! The Golden Triangle is one of Denver's great neighborhoods for combining food, art, architecture, and a little exploring.

The Denver Art Museum and Clyfford Still Museum are nearby, along with the History Colorado Center and Civic Center Park. The neighborhood also offers independent galleries, boutiques, restaurants, and coffee shops.

For fellow food lovers, neighborhood favorites like Leven Deli add to the area's culinary appeal.

Our suggestion? Make an afternoon of it. Visit a museum, explore the neighborhood, stop into The Truffle for something wonderful to take home, and perhaps enjoy a drink at Schoolyard before heading out.

Great cheese shouldn't have to be the only reason you leave the house. Though we certainly think it's a good one.

What's this 5280 Trail we've been hearing about?

This may be one of the most exciting things happening right outside our new front door.

Denver's planned 5280 Trail is a roughly 5-mile urban trail designed to connect neighborhoods, parks, cultural attractions, and businesses in central Denver.

In October 2026, work began on the two-block stretch between 10th and 12th Avenues, directly alongside the Evans School. The vision includes a more pedestrian-friendly street, more greenery, places to gather, opportunities for public art, and flexible spaces for neighborhood events.

Over time, the larger trail will make it easier and more enjoyable to explore Denver on foot or by bicycle.

Think of it as a future stroll through Denver's cultural district, with an excellent cheese shop conveniently along the way.

Will the new shop be different from the old Truffle?

Yes and no.

The things you loved about The Truffle aren't going anywhere.

We'll continue celebrating exceptional artisan cheeses, charcuterie, knowledgeable service, and the pleasure of discovering something delicious that you might never have tried otherwise.

But our new location gives us room to do more.

We're planning an expanded selection of specialty foods, entertaining essentials, gifts, and products from Colorado's own talented makers and producers, alongside the international cheeses and provisions that have always defined The Truffle.

We also want the shop to be more experiential. A place to discover, learn, taste, ask questions, and occasionally find an excellent excuse to invite friends over.

In short, we're keeping the cheese-shop personality you remember and giving it a little more room to breathe.

Will you still offer cheese-making classes and private events?

Absolutely. In fact, expanding these experiences is one of the main reasons we chose our new location.

We're already hosting our popular hands-on mozzarella and burrata classes at the Evans School. We will soon begin offering more educational events, tastings, and opportunities to gather around great food.

The building itself also offers a variety of distinctive event spaces, including a beautifully restored historic auditorium.

Whether you're planning a date night, a corporate team-building experience, a private gathering, or simply want to learn how to make fresh cheese, we hope you'll think of The Truffle.

Can I still order cheese platters, charcuterie boards, and gifts?

Of course!

Our signature cheese and charcuterie platters, curated gifts, and catering offerings remain an important part of what we do.

We're continuing to serve customers through online ordering and delivery as we prepare the retail storefront.

Whether you need a board for a dinner party, a thoughtful corporate gift, or something special for a celebration, we're here to help.

When will the new retail shop open?

We're working to welcome retail customers in time for the 2026 holiday season, with the exact date depending on the final stages of construction, permitting, and preparation.

In the meantime, our cheese-making classes are already bringing guests into the Evans School, and we continue to offer online ordering, platters, gifts, and more.

One last question: Is it still the same Truffle?

Very much so.

For more than 25 years, The Truffle has been about good food, interesting people, and the belief that something as simple as a beautiful piece of cheese can make an ordinary day better.

That isn't changing.

What is changing is how much more we can do with that idea.

Same passion. More possibilities, and a new neighborhood to explore.
