The Truffle Cheese Shop Plans Return Following Local Investment
Denver’s Truffle Cheese Shop Announces New Local Ownership and Plans for Return to Retail
DENVER, Colo. — After a difficult chapter that saw the closure of its longtime 6th Avenue location in 2025, The Truffle Cheese Shop is preparing for its next phase under new Colorado ownership.
Earlier this month, Denver-based DHP Holdings acquired a majority stake in The Truffle Cheese Shop as part of a long-term investment in the locally founded specialty food business, which has served the Denver community for more than two decades.
The transaction keeps the company entirely Colorado-based, with local ownership, local investment, and a renewed focus on supporting Colorado food producers and artisan brands alongside our traditional products and an expanded base of home goods and beverage options.
“As hard as the 12 months have been, I always believed there was a future for this business,” said David Walsh of DHP Holdings. “The Truffle has been part of Denver’s food culture for decades, and we felt strongly that a locally owned Colorado business deserved the opportunity to evolve and continue.”
The Truffle Cheese Shop closed its 6th Avenue storefront during the second half of 2025 following a series of business challenges. Since then, ownership and partners have worked to stabilize operations, resolve outstanding obligations, and create a sustainable path forward for the company.
Discussions regarding the investment began in late 2025 after longtime customers and local supporters expressed interest in helping preserve the business following Westword's coverage of the closure.
The company is now actively evaluating retail locations with the goal of reopening a storefront in Fall 2026.
Until then, The Truffle plans to expand several parts of its business that continued operating during the transition period, including:
· cheese-making classes
· curated platter delivery
· catering and gifting
· upcoming wine-and-cheese pairing events
Customers can also continue to find Truffle products and selections through our online presence and at partner locations, including Bonnie Brae Liquors and The Wine Dispensary.
In addition to reopening retail, we are actively seeking partnerships with Colorado-based producers, makers, farmers, and specialty food brands that are interested in selling their products through The Truffle.
“While our focus will always be cheese and all that it can be globally,” Walsh said. “There are incredible local producers here, and we want to help showcase them.”
