We are often asked if we can print a list of our cheeses online. Our answer is always the same, "we change them too often to do that!" So, here is a list of cheeses that we have in our case right now. Tomorrow, I can't promise anything. There are just too many cheeses in the world that we want to taste to keep the same ones around all the time!
As of August 24, 2016, these are the Alpine Favorites in our cheese case (in no particular order):
- Emmenthaler Gotthelf
- Abbaye du Belloc
- Gruyere 1655
- Fontina val d'Aosta
- Tome du Bearn
- Tomme Rabelais
- Urchruter Chaas
- Tete du Moine
I'm sure I'm forgetting a few, but here is the list as best as I can. A few of note: Sternschnuppe means 'falling star' because of all of the little holes in the paste of the cheese. Made by one of the few female cheesemakers in Bavaria. Tome du Bern and Abbaye du Belloc are both from France's Pyrenees mountains, not quite "alps", but still pretty high! The Tomme Rabelais made a Swiss couple so happy the other day when they tasted it. That Wrangback is from Sweden! Our first Swedish cheese and it's representing its country pretty well.
Stop by the shop for a taste of any and all!
